I grew up in a secular Catholic home. I heard about Jesus through this circumstance, yet did not know Him. Through the love, work, and I assume prayers, of believing neighbors, I, at a specific point in time, acknowledged that it was Jesus Christ that I owed my thanksgiving to. I began to pray to Him immediately and have not ceased to do this ever since. I was about nine years old.
Being still in my secular Catholic environment, I knew nothing (essentially) of the Word of God and what doctrine was present there. Through the years, I considered myself a Christian, but still had little sound knowledge to support my belief. Not long after high school, I felt an urgency to read the Bible – cover to cover – for myself. As I did, I became aware of a lot of things! Condensing this account, I learned of sin, repentance, and the relationship of these two (2 Cor. 7:10). I took the advice of the Apostle Paul in 2 Cor. 13:5 to test/examine myself to see if I was “in the faith.” Then also of the Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 1:10, to be diligent to “make my calling and election sure.”
Since then, I have been on a massive re-education plan that continues to this day. I have become an avid student of the Bible and am eager to understand each discipline from a biblically pre-supposed standpoint. Some cornerstone texts of my present work in teaching science include the ideas of:
The word of God is life to me and to my family. I work to impart this reality and vision to my students at every turn. I am now serving as the science director at Friendship Christian School in Suwanee Georgia. I also work as lead upper school teacher and I am part of the administration team. It is my vision to equip teachers biblically to mature spiritually as they train the next generation for the Lord.
